The Tennessee Vols are 12.5-point favorites against Georgia Tech, but could this be a much tougher game than everyone expects?
Charlie Burris and Zach Ragan preview Tennessee's first road game of the 2026 season, break down the biggest matchup questions and give their score predictions for Saturday night's game in Atlanta.
The national narrative has been that Tennessee should have little trouble with Georgia Tech after the Yellow Jackets lost to Colorado in Week 1. But the guys aren't buying into that completely.
Georgia Tech is coming off a disappointing loss, and head coach Brent Key has made it clear that his team needs to respond. The Yellow Jackets' offensive line was heavily criticized after struggling against Colorado, and Tennessee could be walking into a team that is determined to establish its physical identity.
The Vols also have to deal with the challenge of playing on the road at night with a true freshman quarterback.
Faizon Brandon looked extremely promising in his Tennessee debut, but Georgia Tech will present him with defensive looks he hasn't seen before. Charlie and Zach expect the Yellow Jackets to try to take away Tennessee's rushing attack, challenge Brandon with different looks and force the freshman to beat them.
The guys also discuss Georgia Tech quarterback Alberto Mendoza, who could become a bigger part of the Yellow Jackets' offense after Georgia Tech struggled to run the football against Colorado.
For Tennessee, the formula is relatively simple: stop Georgia Tech's rushing attack, run the football effectively and avoid the mistakes that could allow the Yellow Jackets to hang around.
Charlie predicts Tennessee will eventually pull away and win 31-22, while Zach predicts a 27-17 Vols victory.
They also look ahead to Texas vs. Ohio State, a game that could have major implications for Tennessee's season with the Longhorns waiting on the schedule in two weeks.
Can Tennessee avoid the trap? Will Faizon Brandon handle his first road test? And can the Vols cover the 12.5-point spread?
Charlie Burris and Zach Ragan break it all down on the latest Big Orange Podcast.
