Faizon Brandon’s Texas Test Could CHANGE Everything for Tennessee

Faizon Brandon helped Tennessee beat Georgia Tech 45-24 in his first road start. Now comes a much bigger question: What will the true freshman need when the Vols face Texas? Former Tennessee quarterback Jonathan Crompton joins Charlie Burris to explain what stands out about Brandon beyond his passing stats. Crompton sees a quarterback who can make plays with his legs without abandoning the pass—and whose poise could give him a high ceiling as the season progresses. That is Crompton’s projection, but he also explains what Tennessee must do to help Brandon reach it. What can the Vols’ play caller do when Texas speeds up the game? Crompton discusses getting Brandon into an early rhythm, giving him manageable throws and making his running ability part of the plan. He also explains why he would call more designed quarterback runs than Tennessee showed at Georgia Tech. Brandon finished the road win with 148 passing yards and two touchdowns. What should Tennessee add to his game plan before Texas comes to Neyland Stadium?
