Faizon Brandon’s FIRST Turnover Sparks an Honest Tennessee QB Grade Before Texas

Faizon Brandon threw for a touchdown, ran for another and helped Tennessee beat Kennesaw State 42-9. He also lost his first fumble and had a few throws that left Austin Stanley wanting more before the Vols face No. 1 Texas. Austin gives Brandon a C+ to B- range for the night. Former Tennessee quarterback Jonathan Crompton explains why he would not give the freshman an A, but also points to the decisions and checkdowns that continue to impress him. They discuss the sack-fumble, missed opportunities downfield, Brandon’s running ability and why this may have been a useful learning game. Crompton also offers his opinion on how Brandon fits Tennessee compared with former Vols quarterback Nico Iamaleava.
